Location: Glendale, CA
Job Type: Contract (6 months, potential temp-to-hire)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to support a busy financial services environment. This role is responsible for identifying, investigating, and mitigating potential fraud activity across multiple transaction channels. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and hands-on experience with fraud detection tools and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze Verafin fraud alerts to detect and prevent fraudulent activity
  • Conduct fraud detection and prevention analysis across various payment channels
  • Investigate suspicious transactions and escalate high-risk cases as needed
  • Evaluate risk levels and recommend appropriate actions based on findings
  • Support fraud mitigation efforts related to account takeover and payment fraud
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen fraud prevention processes

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of breach of warranty (check fraud)
  • Working knowledge of ACH, wire transfers, bill pay, and ATM transactions
  • Proven experience identifying and investigating account takeover fraud

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in fraud prevention, loss prevention, or investigations
  • Experience working with Verafin or similar fraud detection systems
  • Professional certifications such as ACAMS, CFE, CAFS, or equivalent
  • Background in a credit union or financial institution back-office environment
